Food has a tremendous effect, the secret to younger-looking skin could lie in your kitchen. It is easy: you can choose fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C, E and A, minerals and antioxidants.
Papaya is one of my all-time favorite beauty foods. It is rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C, E, and carotenoids (lycopene). Together, these high levels of nutrients help protect the skin from free radicals. These free radicals lead to wrinkles and other visible signs of aging. In addition, the enzyme papain, found in papaya, breaks down dead skin cells and promotes skin renewal when used topically. Papaya facial and body treatments are a great way to improve the skin’s texture, elasticity and appearance.
Oranges and pineapple contain skin-brightening vitamin C while hemp seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, good type of fats that reduce inflammation and give you a radiant and younger looking skin.
ANTI-AGING GOLDEN SMOOTHIE
Preparation time: 10 minutes Yields: 2 servings
INGREDIENTS
280 g (10 oz) papaya, peeled, seedless and cut into pieces
70 g (3 oz) fresh pineapple, cut into pieces
1 orange, peeled and cut into pieces
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
300 ml cold water
10 ice cubes
DIRECTIONS
Place water, hemp seeds and fruits in a high powered blender. Blend for a few seconds.
