Dear Readers,
First of all, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for being part of this journey and for your continued support. I know it’s been a while since my last post, and I owe you an explanation—as well as an apology for the radio silence.
The truth is, I’ve been pouring my time, energy, and soul into something incredibly exciting: a book. Yes, a book! And not just any book, but one that celebrates one of the most delightful rituals of Italian culture—the Aperitivo.
For those of you unfamiliar with the term, the Italian Aperitivo is so much more than just pre-dinner drinks. It’s a moment of connection, of unwinding, of savoring life. It’s a spritz in hand as the sun sets, a table adorned with delicious small bites, and the warm company of friends and family. The Aperitivo embodies everything I love about Italian culture: the joy of simple pleasures, the artistry of flavors, and the ritual of coming together.
This book is my love letter to that tradition. I’ve been diving deep into its history, exploring regional variations, and gathering recipes that range from classic to contemporary. Whether it’s a perfectly balanced Negroni, a refreshing Aperol or Senera Spritz, or a lesser-known gem like the Americano, I’m including everything you need to craft your own Aperitivo experience at home. And let’s not forget the food! Think bruschetta, focaccia, ascolane olives, and other irresistibly snackable delights.
As much as I miss sharing regular posts here on the blog, I truly believe this project will be worth the wait. My goal is to create something beautiful, informative, and inspiring—a book that not only brings you closer to the flavors of Italy but also encourages you to slow down and savor the everyday moments.
In the meantime, I promise to pop in here with updates, sneak peeks, and maybe even a few Aperitivo-inspired recipes to tide you over. Your patience means the world to me, and I can’t wait to share this labor of love with you.
Thank you for understanding, for sticking with me, and for being the amazing readers that you are. If you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to share your favorite Aperitivo drink, I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
Cheers (or as they say in Italy, “Cin Cin”) – Paola
How exciting for you! I’m sure the book will be awesome. I’ll be looking out for it.
