Figs with caprino cheese is certainly a winning combination! This is a special dish to serve for a starter or aperitif, combining the sweetness of figs and the distinct flavor of caprino. September is the season of figs in Italy and I am enjoying the last ones.
In no time you can prepare an irresistible aperitivo to serve with tasty white wine such as Sauvignon blanc.
Crackers are thin and crunchy sheets of bread dough, known all over the world and delicious with cheese. You can enrich your crackers with any cheese. One of my favorite cheese is soft and spreadable goat cheese (caprino), tasty and healthy. It has enough zing to perk up almost any dish, and it can be lovely by itself, too, with crisp, raw veggies or on crackers with fruit and vegetables, such as tomatoes.
The nutritional content of goat cheese varies depending on the processing method used, such as aging or curing.
All types of goat cheese contain nutrients that are beneficial to your health such as healthy fats, protein, vitamins and minerals. Additionally, goat cheese is digested differently than cow’s milk and is a hypoallergenic alternative for those allergic to cheese made from cow’s milk.
